Anyone know where to get a Kimber?

Postby rhodalinsky on Wed Oct 03, 2012 8:45 am

Now that the gunstop is closed, does anyone know where I can get a Kimber pro carry stainless with night sites? I don't want to go to cabelas or gander. I am looking for reasonable prices.

Thanks

I'd try Frontiersman on the S frontage road of 394 at 394 and Lousiana.

places i go to buy guns locally in order of how well i have been treated buying guns there:

1. Thunderjohn here on the MNGT board.
2. Bills gun shop
3. Lakes Trading
4. Frontiersman

usually, if Thunderjohn can't get it in for me i go to Buds gun shop online and order it in for him to transfer. $20 transfer fee and you can save a buck here and there. i DO like buying local though - unless it's a hundred dollar savings or it just can't be found local i go through the 4 listed above.... support the community

prices ona Kimber are going to be pretty steady, independent dealer always being slightly cheaper than a brick and mortar store.

good luck! :D

Kimber has an exclusive dealer network, you're not going to see many home based FFL's selling them.

Thanks. Thunder John can't get Kimber. He is my #1 try. Cabelas and gander is $100 more expensive than gunstop was on the Kimber. I will try bills. Are they fair with buying a used gun?

Remember, any shop has to make some level of profit on that which they buy. Buyers will only pay so much so usually it's the seller that takes it in the shorts to leave the room for the shops to cover overhead and salaries and etc...

Sometimes Gander offers more than Cabelas and Bill's because Gander has a higher markup or a higher opinion of what they'd sell it for and thus the x% of sales price which they pay for used guns can sometimes be higher. SHOP AROUND. My advice is try to find a buyer who wants it as much as you want out of it :-).

As fair as most other retail operations. At most retail stores, for the most part, you can expect to get on average 40% of what they can expect to sell it for cash, and 50% - 60% in trade. Give or take a bit depending on a whole host of circumstances of course...... You are far better off trying to find a private buyer.

You should be able to find a lot of Used Kimbers out there if that is interesting to you.

see if budsgunshop.com has one in stock. free shipping, prices are for cash. Thunderjohn or BPR will do $20 transfers.

Ahlman's? If I remember right they only carry full size 1911's though, and I don't know if they carry Kimber or not, but worth a call.

You could try calling R&R Arms in Bemidji to see if they have that particular one. Last I was in there they had a whole bunch of Kimbers.

Give them a call, 218-759-1866. They ship all firearms for $10 and free shipping on firearms over $500.
