I think they shoot at Bills. The only downside there (compared to Burnsville) is that you need to join IDPA after one match IIRC.

We actually Shoot at Metro Gun Club in Blaine now. Next match is Jan 19th. There will be an online pre-registration the monday before the match. We are limited on space so be sure to pre-register.

Hope to see you there.

Red, I would contact Stewart Thompson, CSO sthompson@tcactionshooting.com who is our membership director as to status/procedures on guest shooters.
Stew may also post here as he is sometimes on the board.

The Twin Cities club has over 100 members who paid the club's $20 annual dues and the IDPA's $40 international dues. Space is really limited at Metro,
40 shooters max, so I'm not sure what the board has decided. There is also no good place to do the initial brief in and limited qualification we do beforehand

I do know we have always actively encouraged folks to come out and try IDPA, and in the summer at Beaverbrook there is no pre registration required, Also, the board
reduced club dues to $20 year round ( used to be $30 after Mar 1) since getting new folks started safely in the winter is difficult.

Some of you know Keith Ulfers and I, with help from many others, started this club in 2004 at the then Armored Fire. We were hoping 10 or 12 people would show up.
With the preregistraion that starts at 6am the winter matches are often filled and closed by 10am. 45 plus attending is the norm in the summer

As to the dues IDPA International now has over 20,000 members and their principal income is from these dues. USPSA does not required membership, but I believe,
and on this board I know someone will correct me if I am wrong, that they instead collect $3 a shooter for scores reported to them. Twin Cities is member owned and
run, fully 1/2 the $20 club dues goes to insurance costs, while the rest has funded equipment and secure storage containers to house all the gear we now own.

Bob:
last I heard new shooters were not going to be allowed to participate
this winter due to the change in location and the smaller space at Metro.

Has that changed?

The board did not allow new shooters at the 1st match to get a feel for the range, how stages would work, etc. What has or has no changed , I don't know, I'm off he board for several years and generally just know what is published to members. Joe Houser is on the board and acting as MD this winter, he will know too, sorry I don't

Red,
Twin Cities Action Shooting is allowing new shooters to shoot with us at Metro if you have some prior competition experience. We have had room in both of our first 2 matches for non-members. If you are new to competition, we suggest you come out, watch at least one match and then we can discuss the next steps to getting you shooting. Unfortunately, we don't really have room to do our normal new shooters briefings like we do before every match we hold outdoors.

We are also planning on setting up a new shooter orientation class some time in the March-April time frame for anyone who is new to competition, is new to IDPA, and wants to shoot with us next Spring/Summer.

If you have any questions go to our website at http://www.twincitiesidpa.com for more info or send me an email at sthompson@tcactionshooting.com.
