Guns, ammo and accessories are not food, water, fuel or shelter. They aren't purchases that must be made on a regular basis to sustain life - bottom line if you think things are unreasonably expensive, don't buy them. The only reason not to jack prices right now is fear of alienating your customers (I personally won't be shopping at Cheaper Than Dirt! anymore).

Also, I'm willing to pay $50 for two PMAGs, only because I bought an AR before this madness started, and I've only got one steel mag to go with it. I've made that choice, anything more expensive and I'll wait and take my chances with backorders.

Wait... what... What's the difference between "free market" and ctd?

I need a good laugh. Explain this to me?

I don't know what this sentence means, what is "ctd"?

Edit: Oh I think I got it, "Cheaper Than Dirt!"

What do you mean "what's the difference" there is no difference. I wrote "The only reason not to raise prices right now is alienating your customers" by raising prices on PMags by 400% at the very beginning of all of this they succeeded in alienating me, what's not to get? Of course this has zero relevance for private sales on ebay and gun broker and this forum, and it doesn't mean they did something that was wrong or unethical, just poor customer service.

Go for it! If you get $900, how is that bad? Good for you!

If somebody gives me over msrp, the sale would be contingent on me slapping them.

Tommy, at this point I'll just say I respect your opinion and move on. I think some others think differently, and thats ok. To each their own. You're a strong-willed man and I respect that.

I'm just opinionated and annoying cause I don't mind hassling people to get my point across.

Maybe I'm just wired different. I mean like I this pistol. It's in my top few but I've already debated selling it just cause I know somebody will appreciate it more.

If someone freely pays double the MSRP of a pistol, you didn't take advantage of anybody.

Experience is a wonderful teacher and I'm happy to share my decades of it. Thoughts on new and used gun economics to help you avoid this problem. Three things to keep in mind-

1) New gun econ is just like new car econ- drive it off the lot and it immediately depreciates by "X". A smart buyer always knows that spread, has cash on hand, and is disciplined to buy at the bottom and lower. Value is ALWAYS relative, you should always understand and execute on what is economically (not emotionally) valuable to you.
2) Paraphrasing the current smart phone commercial-" Some people kill zombies, some people feed them" . Absolutely your choice, not an ounce of virtue/nobility in either.
3) Broaden your sense/idea of the market. This board has a decidedly younger and less affluent demographic than others. There are exceptions. Inexpensive guns sell here quickly. Expensive guns - not so much.
