All they did was post where the bad guys can go to rip off another gun to go kill people with. How smart are these news paper thuggs any way??

To my knowledge (and any LEOs correct me on this.......) even the cops don't know if you're a PTC holder unless you tell them. They verify it by calling into the Dispatcher who then checks with the MN BCA via access to the MN BCA systems.

A query and response takes less than 30 seconds through dispatch. I just need your name and date of birth.

Tman, it was my understanding that MN license plate have "tags" (not the month and year) on them. And as such all the officer needs to do is push a couple buttons (sorry I do not know which ones) and it will come up on the computer as having a permit to carry.

This is the reasoning behind denying me my Support the Troops personalized plates.

That is incorrect. The license plate query tells me to whom the vehicle is registered. Depending on the query, the response will include the owners drivers license information and driving record.

There is a common misunderstanding that permit to carry information is contained in the driving record. There is none. There IS a spot for DNR firearm safety (yes or no), and on some printouts it reads, "FIREARM: YES." That merely represents that the licensee has completed the hunter's safety class.

Call it "Home Burglars Guide to Safe Break-ins" or something of the sort. Next someone will publish a directory of homes that have dog breeds that the fuzzies consider to be aggressive. Rottweilers, Bull Terriers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, etc.
Donald Trump got more fat women moving in one day than Michelle Obama did in eight years.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I have, for years, been trying to get my personalized plates on the Support the Troops background and they (dmv, or state) have denied me this because they say there are "flags" that can be put on the plates. I assumed that one of the flags was the permit to carry. If I may, what type of "flags" are they referring to? Feel free to PM me.

There is a database field called FLAGS. I don't know how many different flags there are. Tons, I imagine. The ones I can recall the quickets are "held for resale" and "impound plates". One of my vehicles has the "support the troops" plates, and if I were to look at my registration, it might have a flag: "reject transfer" . I have no clue what that means, but I think it's telling the state to NOT let the plates transfer with the car, if it's sold.

I don't know why they won't let you get personalized "support the troops" plates, unless it's because someone (YOU) already has a MN Plate that reads what you want the new plate to read...
