First impression is that SF 400 is a good bill. SF 413 appears to be only directed toward reinstatement of rights for felons, so I would say that's not too onerous. The troubling ones are SF 205 and 458. Both are in violation of due process clause of the Fifth Amendment. I haven't had a chance to analyze SF 235 yet.

My guess is that the senate is waiting for the house to draft the larger overall gun control bill, that will contain parts of the various house bills, then a companion bill will be introduced in the senate. It looks like right now the senate just has companion bills for the low hanging fruit.

So they are waiting to see if the house kills off any ban bills before they stick their neck out on them. Lets hope the bills all die a quick death. Although a full house vote would put anti-gunners on record for the next election- i would still be happier and have less stress if it don't get to that point.

It's all about showing up. During House hearings two weeks ago, the gun-rights extremists tried to shut us out of hearings by crowding hearing rooms. We represent the vast majority of Minnesotans who support sensible gun laws. We won't be crowded out Feb. 21 and 22! Please show up to support universal background checks before the sale of pistols and assault weapons, measures against gun trafficking, and improved screening of dangerous individuals who try to buy guns.

That is interesting. Thankfully in this case she is telling the truth! We had a lot of people there.
Is it possible for folks to figure out how to meet at OGC, Minnetonka Sportsmans or wherever and carpool in?
How can we best keep the message strong and congruent, that there are many of us, and we are here!
We have the numbers, this isn't about party lines this is about defending our rights as law abiding citizens!

I feel strongly that the Democrats better consider their base. They are pushing the envelope just as the Republicans did with their silly amendments.

The nine year old who lives across the street described something to me the other day as "maybe he's just plain stupid", seems to apply to a lot of things lately.

Actually, not that depressing at all. The entire website has a total of 1537 facebook "likes" and alot of them aren't even from MN. Most of the stories have less than 10 likes, some only a couple. If this was a site that needed to generate revenue, they'd be long gone. Looks like a few squeeky wheels with more time on their hands than anything else. The second picture XD Ed posted must be their core group. :hmm:

We represent the vast majority of Minnesotans who support sensible gun laws.

One can interpret that statement more than one way. i.e.: there are 4 of them, and a total of 7 "Minnesotans who support sensible gun laws" .

Comedy aside. Look what's going on in the legislatures across the country. These few are the useful idiots of those with the desire and potential to disarm the citizenry.

We need to call out the anti gun speakers lies.the guns look scary so there more deadly.weapons for the battle field yea a semi auto that no army uses I comparable to grenades, tank, rocket launchers, artillery ,air power etc.the guns are safe for every gov agency and cops but when we have the same guns we get lumped in with mass killers.
