Ammo at Dick's Sporting goods?

Postby ranger on Fri Mar 08, 2013 9:27 am

Has anyone found any .22LR, .223, 9mm or .380 ammo at any of the Dick’s locations lately? I’ve been frequently checking the Coon Rapids and Maple Grove stores and haven’t found squat. I have a $20 off coupon that’s getting close to the expiration date and it would be nice to spend it on ammo.

Why would you spend money there, when they voluntarily banned modern sporting rifles and magazines without any law forcing them to?

I won't go there for anything.

I've been checking Maple Grove and Minnetonka locations fairly frequently ... haven't come across any yet. If I happen to get lucky I'll be sure to let the forum know!

I was at dicks in burnsville yesterday and they only had some .40,38. The woman working the gun counter said they were getting an ammo shipment today. Might be worth checking.

Dick's is ridiculously overpriced for ammo, if they even have it. Only bought some .30-30 once cause of a sale and a discount coupon which ended up making it only one dollar a box cheaper than FF. If you absolutely need it now and they have it, go ahead.

But since their self imposed gun sales ban, I'm boycotting them altogether. Fleet Farm supports shooters and PTC, so they get all my business now.

I knew I’d catch some heat when I posted the question. I’m not a fan of Dick’s either, but they are/were the only local store where I could find CCI SV.22 LR ammo on a regular basis….and I really like CCI SVs.

if your willing to drive or maybe call around alot of the smaller Shopko-Hometown stores sell ammo. Usually in a very small hard to find locked box near the floor in sportgoods section. I have found much success at places like this, you pay alittle more (remington .223 FMJ $9.99) but i picked up close to 300 rounds at one store just a couple weeks ago.
