New Shield

Just picked this little guy up today. Overall feel and look is top notch. Trigger is nice and crisp, can't wait to try it out.

New Shield

Nice! I have a 9mm shield. Love it. Keep a decent grip on that .40. Take a look at Talon grips. Their rubber grips might help keep that little cannon under control. If you do talons on it, don't do the granulated ones. They make carrying difficult. Just a suggestion. Their an inexpensive upgrade too.

Nice, I've been wanting to pick the 9mm version up, where did you find one?

Thanks for the tip, I was just going to look at Talons, and rubber vs granulated. I think I will try to find a 9mm barrel for it also, hear you can just swap them no problem.

Bought it at grabagun on Thursday, must have checked at the right time, paid $427

Compared to the cm9, the Shield feels and looks like a more quality gun. I will have to see how it feels to carry since the grip is about an inch longer.

You will like it.

I found my 9mm shield by calling around for 6 hours, driving to Walker (180 miles one way) and over paying by $100. But I have mine now and it was worth the time, miles, and extra $'s. at least in my eyes. I'm a little OCC so I am better off getting it done with, or it will be on my mind excessively:)

I have both versions of Talon grips, rubber on my Shield and granulated on my Pro. For sure go with rubber for a carry. It has plenty of grip the way it ships and if you want more just wipe it down with alcohol. Granulated while having tons of grip would chafe your skin, clothes or both.

Just got back from bills shooting mine for the first time. Aside from the front sight white dot falling out on the second shot, it was good. I shot quarter sized groups of 8 when I wasn't dinking around doing mag dumps :)

New Shield

I'll have to give the talon grips a try. I like my shield but the xs big dot sights are taking a bit of getting used to.

I know it isn't much help now unless you sell the XS sights, but I've tried those too and couldn't hit anything (well, other than a torso size target at 10 feet, which I suppose is what they are for).

IMO give the Trijicon HD night sights a whirl. Big yellow or red circle around the front sight. Rear sight is opened slightly more than regular Trijicon's to find the front sight more quickly etc.

Wonderful sights according to me and what you paid for the info.

I have the Trijicon HD's in orange on my Shield. That orange ring pops right out at you but is small enough that precision work is still possible. Great sights.

Talons are feeling really nice, easy to put on. Took it out a few days ago and put 50 180gr HST and 100 180gr WWB, no issues. The grips really help with the snap when shooting the HSTs, good investment.

Picked up the last of five 9mm Shields at Gander in Rogers. Paid full retail, will head to the range Wed or Thursday.

They said more are on the way.
