Not at all. I am suggesting that no government has clean hands in world affairs. All world powers get in wars ,That aren't necessary to national security!
Did we lead in lybia or was that the French or Brits?
If you think I support every war we get in, You would be wrong!
I look for national security as the base line for any military involvement.
It doesn't matter which party sits in the white house.

Overseas military bases and foreign aid generate a lot of positive results for the United States. It helps fight the message that some people try to create that Americans are evil, fat, lazy, etc. When they can put a face to the BS they are being fed, it can cause them to doubt that that particular narrative has merit.

We shouldn't mind our own business. We should be smart about how we get involved with other countries. We're getting much better. The whole Arab spring is a good example of smart involvement.

Isolationism, no. But intelligent and diplomatic involvement before military involvement? Yes.
I don't agree with the overseas military bases comment... we could still have a military presence abroad without having bases in other (ostensibly allied) countries - stationing troops at someone else's base is a far cry from what we do now. As far as foreign aid, in principle it sounds like a good idea but when you realize how it actually gets used (mainly by the powers that be in any given country to continue to maintain their power, particularly in African countries) it starts to look less appealing.

Also, I don't disagree that Arab spring was a smart amount of involvement on our part - as little as possible.
