So out of curiosity, why don't ammunition manufacturers (temporarily) increase their prices? That would kill off that kind of insider arbitrage, and work to bring supply and prices back down faster afterwards. It would also allow those manufacturers to spend the increased profits on more permanent capacity, as well as increase the incentive for new manufacturers.Deputyhiro wrote:That is correct. Just about every box of primers taken off the store shelves at regular price winds up on gunbroker, I'd be willing to bet. I know of a couple guys that know cabelas stock schedule like clockwork. Just clear the shelves and double+ their money. The "panic" will not end when **** like that keeps happening.
I know I for one wouldn't mind paying more for scarce ammunition knowing that the extra cash went to federal, rather than some skeezy internet scalper.
