I had the same "discussion with a clerk last year. He said that guns are intended to kill people. I played it up because I was pretty sick of hearing people spout this nonsense.

I always buy my 9mm and .38 ammo at WM, but it is always just a little different, depending on who is working. Last time the person didn't seem to speak much English, I just had to point at the boxes while she got them out of the cabinet for me. The time before that some young guy just seemed genuinely interested in what and where I was shooting. It is such a huge organization there that you are bound to run in to all types. :ugeek:

I buy ten boxes at a time there, and I've never gotten any reaction at all. Well, except for a guy who said, "looks like you're fixing to have a good time!" If anyone ever gave me any crap, you can bet I'd talk to a manager. That would be totally unacceptable in any business.

+1 but the stupid part is we have grown acceptable of the behavior that we hate so much. Loud people having private phone calls in public areas, Punks being punks because they never heard "NO" once in their life and being treated like manure for disruping their day even though we are the customer

Makes me angry if I think about this too much.

Has any one had a problem with the fed 22 because 2 out of 10 rounds jams, doesn't fire or doesn't eject from my marlin semi? I never have a problem with any other ammo. If I didn't have 1000 rounds laying around still I wouldn't bother shooting it.

.22's can be very firearm specific. I'm sure someone would be willing to help you test it if you'd like.

ammo shopping at Wal-Mart

Postby KA0OLD on Wed Sep 17, 2008 7:13 am

It's not the store, it's the Ammo. 22's come in different loads. To make my guns play, I look for the words "High Velosity". I have also had a couple of guns that liked "Stinger" rounds, The sales guy told me that they had more powder than a standard 22 (Stinger). As I recall the case was slightly longer on the Stingers. Also ejecting had to do the bullet weight, hollow points don't eject as reliable as the heavier slugs. I shoot a S & W 22A, A couple of Ruger MK II's and a old Mosberg rifle. I used to have a couple of PO-8's copys, (Stoeger Luger) that worked best with the Stingers.

Hey speak2u, welcome to the forum!

The last time I bought ammo at the Roch walmart it took about 20 minutes for them to find the guy with the key to get into the ammo case. He was on break and was the only one with the key.

I shop for Winchester in the white box at Anoka WM, close to where I live. Two years ago I went in and decided to buy some 9mm. They manager there asked me how much. I asked "How much you got ?" I bought all 3200 rounds, filled a shopping cart, and went home happily wondering if the black helicopters were going to follow me home. They did ask what the ammo was for, becasue of the quantity. I explained to them that I was hosting a second annual machinegun shoot in Redwing, and we needed it for the Stens and MP-40's. They didn't seem to be shocked. "Have a fun time!", he said. I liked the pic of the receipt from Buffalo previously posted... the mask entry had me rolling!

Or.... "watch the news tonight. It will all be explained then."

Or.... "Nope, don't need a bag, I'll need it on the way out"

Or.... "'How else am I going to keep the neighbors dog off my lawn?"

Or... "Going target shooting.... Where's the nearest bell-tower?"

Stupid questions deserve stupid answers. But Macphisto probaby has the best answer....... at least an answer that won't get you arrested like mine will.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.
