Nope...

When did that change? Last one I removed (Gen4) bent pretty easy and everything I am seeing says they are as well. :?:

I've been a Glock Armorer and Transitional Law Enforcement Instructor since 1989, and still use the factory Glock plastic guide rods in my 9mm's.

Gen 3 has polymer guide rods, Gen 4 has a dual captured guide rod that is metal....partially metal anyway.

Huh... I guess that could be, I looked at a G19 in Gen3 and Gen4 at the same time - thanks for the additional info.

As you may have guessed, I bought neither and got a superior weapon, an XD-M. 8-)

This thread makes me want to get rid of my XD and get another Glock.

If you watch these XDM owners, they are the only ones talking like their guns are better than Glocks. what about the XD owners? the M must stand for something...

We know we have good guns and know the Glock-heads can't handle it - plus it's fun watching the Glock fanboys get all butt hurt over a poke in the ribs... they can dish it out but can't take it. I can't help that you like ugly guns, especially when there is something out there just as reliable, more comfortable and accurate as anything that size can be, it's only fanboyism (or spare parts) that would make one even consider a Glock these days... Springfield and M&P are much better choices.

Sure they are. whay does the XDm stop firing then after 1000 rounds? Don't know? oh, the striker channel fills up with crud and the whol gun needs a detail strip and cleaning. how about dissassembly of the upper or lower? heve you done it on your gun? I have on my XD. All I can say is kiss my goat smellin ass, that glock is designed waaaay better with more rubust parts and can fire with half of them missing. XD can't. You ever look at the grip on a 1911 with a arched mainspring housing? hold one for a day and then grab a glock. a little thicker but the same arch in the palm. wierd...... how about the "match grade" barrels? bench shoot two of the same gun and show me the difference. or the M&p barrels that seem to be sloppier than a hennipin ave hooker and tend to rust up as quick? Your whoule argument is

"Well because, grip angle!!"

what else you got? I have all day ;)

start this test on your m&p or you xdm. let me know how you fare

You defend it all you want, that's fine - I understand... you want to feel good about your mistakes, I mean choices. :D

That's the thing, Glock is its own defense. They stand on their own. I hated them right up until the moment I shot one. I'm man enough to admit I was wrong about them.

Don't forget about the striker retainer pin, you know....the roll pin that breaks and leaves your pistol completely unusable. They seemed to fix this problem by doing away with it on the XDs....I bet their pistols ditch it all together on the next generation of XD pistols. Not being able to detail clean my pistol without pounding out roll pins is what caused me to sell my XDm40. Their fine guns, but to say it's superior to a Glock is a stretch and a matter of personal opinion. I guess when you're first and at the top the Springfield fan boys will snipe at ya....

That's actually been proven false, you can operate it with a broken pin - from someone who knows about as much about them as anyone:

Actually--that's a good point about XD owners.

A LOT of them seem to have a chip on their shoulders when it comes to Glocks; I don't know why, but they like to bash 'em every chance they get...but can't take it when you point out the shortcomings of their chosen platform.

Just my viewpoint as someone who owns neither anymore.
