Primer BOHICA!

Postby Seismic Sam on Sat Jul 27, 2013 11:47 am

For those of you not up on your military acronyms, BOHICA stands for Bend Over, Here It Comes Again!!

Was at the Gregerson hardware store in Baldwin when I was passing through, because they occasionally have some interesting used guns and are out of the way. They have a lot of powders at about $25 a pound, no bullets, and some Winchester small pistol primers at $50 :( :o  :? ;) :( :o  per 1,000. Geez, Doc!! Would you use some lube on that endoscope before you shove it all the way up there??

That's worse than GM. They have primers for 4USD per 100.

Fleet farm in Hudson has CCI SPP in stock Today. 31.99 per 1000.

Also had magnums and rifle primers but I didn't buy any. They had a whole aisle of stuff, mostly empty waiting for lots of new stuff coming. Powder was coming next week my friend who works there said.

J&S had 500 round bricks of CCI lead standard velocity 22LR for $100.

Gouger across the street had packs of 50 for $4.99, so Gouger was half the price of J&S. Go figure.

I found some 22LR varmint CCI 100 packs at WM in BV for $7.49. I bought the limit of 3.

Thats the kind of stuff that will prevent me from ever stepping foot in J&S...

There were 5,000 round cases of CCI-SV at Camp Perry for $335. Sold out in 1 1/2 days.
Primers were going for $199/case - about 30-50 high and they had just about everything.

Point is most this inventory came in just before Perry so it's stuff is starting to show up in dribs and drabs - don't buy from the gougers if you can hold out.

Interesting Gouger dropped their price by a buck, when they first put them out they had them out for $5.99. This tells me prices will come down fast when the stores start to get inventory again!

Get your head out of the clouds, sunshine!! Prices will not REALLY come down until Obama is out of office!! This started the first Tuesday in November 2008, and won't really end until the first Tuesday in November 2016!! provided we're still allowed to own guns and vote, by then...

Correction. It won't end until he carts his Lenin/Stalin/Mao/Castro/Chavez lovin' arse back to whatever third world hell hole he was born in. As it appears right now, that would be January 21, 2017.

Instead of whining, just accept it. They aren't forcing you to buy.
I would think that, if a store can't get supplies, and they still have to pay the rent, they just might charge more for what little they have.

J&S had some CCI 400s back in Feb., had 2 bricks and I was reaching for my wallet until they told me they were $60 each. I work a mile from J&S and have been there twice in the past 2 years, not sure who shops there when GM and FF are only blocks away. They don't really stock reloading gear, mostly shot shells and minimal inventory of primers and bullets and their gun prices are outrageous.

Dont mean to be a pessimist, but I dont know if it will end in 2016 either.

I wouldn't bet money against it Deputy, but Obama is the biggest threat to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights since Stalin.

I only hope we can field an electable candidate in 2016, and the Republican party is going to have to stop having a cow about gay rights and abortion and focus on the real issues like the economy and employment, and we can't have even ONE sexually ignorant moron like Akin recite some ridiculously incorrect fact about human reproduction or we're finished as a party. Frankly, I think Akin may have cost Romney the election.

Agreed 100% Sam. I just fear the fact that Obama is just getting the ball rolling, and who ever picks it up next will just run with it. Even if the Republicans dropped the gay, or abortion issue, I think the media is out to destroy them. At any cost. And the majority of people will vote as they are told. I am a 31 year old small business owner. I know alot of folks older than me that say this "doom and gloom" has came and past before. But I cant hardly think this is going to pass. Maybe it will, but how can you compete with free stuff? Its a losing battle. Any history has proven it before. Welcome to socialist America. I hope I am wrong.

Sam is 100% right that if republican candidates want to get anywhere, they need to drop the "religious right" issues. As a financially conservative, socially liberal gun owner, I haven't felt as though I had a good choice at the polls in MANY years. Both parties have major flaws IMO. I can't get on board with the republican anti-abortion/anti-gay rights/pro-christian agenda, but neither can I be happy with the democrats wanting to spend all of the country's money on wiping away the concept of personal responsibility, let alone their stance on gun control. Both sides seemingly doing their best to erode the right to privacy doesn't help matters any, either.
