I just learned that a couple days ago. I don't plan on buying a .22 right now so I'm not worried. Thanks for the heads up though!

I'm assuming you meant to say you'll be applying for your PTP on Tuesday. The top cop has 7 days to approve or deny. Unfortunately, there are no repercussions for dragging the decision/notification out, so be prepared to wait until AT LEAST the 29th before you hear a yea or nay from the city.
Yes that's exactly what I meant. Turning in the paperwork is one step closer and that's what I intend to be doing. I expect to wait a while. Remember we're both in MN and we've dealt with the MN DMV several times I'm guessing. Everyone knows this state is typically not quick about paperwork, unless you owe them money then we can expect same day mailings!

Then there's always the fine print. Brooklyn Park apparently wanted a few extra days so they only "accept" applications on Tuesdays, thus if you turn it in Wednesday they don't consider the 7 days started until the following Tuesday. However I think I turned mine in on a Thursday and had it the following Monday so they don't always stick to that.
I'll second checking out Capra's. Bought my XDS 9mm and a Citori there this year. Good guys and they have good prices.
As for a 22LR to start, I got a Beretta Neos. Inexpensive and fun to shoot, highly recommend checking it out if you are looking at 22LR.
I think I'll head in there tomorrow after I swing by the Blaine PD. I'm interested in viewing as many gun shops as possible while waiting for my PTP. Thanks for the opinion!

http://www.cdnninvestments.com. They had M&P turn ins a little while back at what looked to be a fair price. Add in shipping and transfer fee to see if they are still reasonable. I've bought a few guns and other items from them and have been very satisfied.
Is it like a crashedtoys.com or a salvage place essentially, without the salvage of course? Reposessed guns possibly? I'm checking them out now!

I've put a couple hundred rounds through a glock and I loved the gun. I am not experienced enough right now to say if it's exactly what I want or not, however I really liked the SW.. I'll put it on my things to buy list!

I'll try to fire both guns if possible before I buy one!
I'll second this. I prefer my XD9 to my M&P 9 pro. I think the lack of tactile feedback on the trigger reset it what bothers me the most. Try them both out and see which one works for you.

I've heard that tactile feedback is seriously lacking. But I've also heard opinions on both sides. It'll come down to which gun I like the best I suppose.
