As I have said previously, a lot of 10mm ammo is watered down crap. 10mm factory spec is 200 grain bullet at 1200 FPS. for 180 grain bullet, the spec is 1300. Design spec for 40 Short & Weak is 180 grain at 980 FPS. Some of the defense stuff is still watered down crap. Caveat emptor!!

The crap:

I know I am ressurecting an old thread, but I have a somewhat related question. Can one shoot 45ACP from a 10mm 1911 by swapping barrels and possibly mags? Or is the difference in diameter and length of case not allow for it?
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

The breech face is the wrong size. You'll never get a .45 case into the slide of a 10mm.

You could get a .40 barrel for a 10mm or vise versa, or .357 sig.
