Bah, he's already laid the groundwork for this switch and is just looking for more free publicity. Changing the name distances the "new" group from MAIG and the "Action Moms" previous calls for bans and restrictions. The "new" group will be much more REASONABLE...just calling for "Universal" Background Checks. I can see it now..."Everytown for Gun Safety has never stated we're for bans or restrictions...just commonsense, reasonable measures...etc bs etc bs etc bs etc"

If he's truly for firearms safety - then they should be sponsoring classes with free ammo and range fees across the US instead of pushing for more laws and restrictions.

I'm not a very religious person, but I'd say he's in for a rude awakening.

Very much so. As the Reverend Father Martin Luther pointed out, one does not enter heaven on the basis of their actions, but ONLY though the grace of God. Of course, it's possible that Mr. Bloomberg is Jewish, and I believe they are under the impression that righteous acts on earth earn them entry into heaven. However, even if you could earn your way into heaven, I'm not so sure that using the power of the .gov to steal the property and restrict the rights of law abiding citizens qualifies as a righteous act.

This is exactly the attitude from the political elite that drove my decision to buy guns after 45 years in a gun free home.
