Glock 29SF 10mm.

Scored this from the local pawn shop today. Guy bought it. Put the accessories on it (different sights, extended slide release, grip extensions, take down leaver) ran a single magazine though it. Then realized that 10mm wasn't the carry caliber for him.

Since trading my Glock 20 earlier this year for an AR15 and 400 rounds of ammo (which I sold the AR15 and kept the ammo a few months back) I've missed 10mm. I've been very happy with my G30S and was hoping to find a G29 locally.



Now I just need some more ammo and practice.

I can commiserate with the guy who sold it. That small a frame with full power 10mm ammo could be a wee bit painful. With my big reloading troll hands, anything smaller than a full size auto leaves my pinky finger waving in the breeze like I was having high tea with the Queen of England, and that ain't good for a 10mm gun. More power to you if you can handle a powerful little piece of Tupperware like that...

I'm glad to see 10mm is in stock at my local fleet store. Going to pick up my limit (4 boxes) on payday and have some fun.

10mm is one of those calibers where you can pay off the price of a modest reloading setup pretty quickly due to the cost of the ammo. Also beware that a lot of 10mm ammo is watered down crap and is barely more powerful that the 40 Short & Weak. Spec for 10mm is 200 grain bullet @ 1200 FPS for the original Norma ammo. Spec for 40 is a 180 grain bullet @ 980 FPS, and a lot of 10mm ammo out there is a 180 bullet @ 1050 FPS, so it's barely better that the 40 ammo they put out. Save your brass!!

I have some underwood 150gr ammo on order. That was some hot stuff in the 20... Can't imagine it coming out of the 29...

I've never been bothered by the recoil in that gun. Now if I had the Bond Arms 10mm bbl...

Guess I'm used to the 460 and 500 mags. The 50 AE is pretty snappy too.

I just got my first 10 mm. Who sells "full power" ammo? I've heard some say buffalo bore. The Sig Sauer ammo at gander and all the hollow points I've tried don't "feel" any more recoil than 40 SW in my uspc. If someone doesn't reload handgun rounds and was taking factory ammo to the bwca or similar locations, what would you recommend?

I'd fire a Bond Arms 500 with Trail Boss but that's about as far as I'd go. Someone gave me a dozen B Bore 440gr loads for the 500. I fired one. I have limits.

At one point, there was a derringer out there, not sure of the brand, but it was one of those two caliber jobs like the one that could take one 45 Long Colt and one .410 shotshell. This thing, however, was the gun from hell made up by some idiots who hopefully are already burning in hell for their stupidity.

Would you believe 45-70???

Only other pistol I know chambered for 45-70 is the Magnum Research BFR (Big Effen Revolver) and that tips the scale at 5 pounds. Obviously one of the designers of the derringer was a flat out sadist. Can't remember if there were any posts from somebody who had shot that thing, but it wasn't on the market for very long.
