This is what happens when you shoot people with 9mm, .45's are death rays, I read it on the intranet.      ;) ;) ;)

I also read on the intranet somewhere that you can actually miss fast enough to win.

I do that all the time, except the "winning" part still eludes me.

While I understand what you guys are saying about physical condition, it makes me wonder why Over 50% of National Football League players own and carry guns. To me, this is interesting, especially in a year that's seen several NFL player killed and that in recent years there are multiple NFL players who have been killed and that have been robbed at gun point. Shawn Taylor comes to mind, the guy had time to get a bat, what if he had a gun? He would still be alive. Richard Collier was shot 14 times, and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Just a few weeks back, star Darrent Williams was shot and killed shortly after leaving a nightclub. These are just a few cases of guns and violence in professional sports. Well known coaches such as Bobby Knight have openly talked about carrying guns. Even high profile basketball players like Scottie Pippen and Allen Iverson have been arrested for illegal gun possession. So we all know stories of players getting killed and I would guess that they should be in pretty damn good shape, but they are still dead.........

Whoa, whoa, WHOA!!!!

That is not even a hair-splitting discussion.......

Now, whether North Highlands is the nectar of the gods or Speyside, THAT is a discussion worth having.

They are also gansta-thug crowd hanger-outers......

The best way to stay out of bar fights is to stay out of bars. The best way to not get shot by gansta-hoods is to not go clubbing with gansta-hoods or have them at your house parties so that they can come back later to try and rob you.

Regarding being in shape and how it can "save" your life, I'm talking more about how being healthy will make you live longer and happier. It seems that survival and longevity is a theme with us, and we spend a lot of time and money preparing in terms of gear and training for a relatively unlikely criminal incident, but few of us spend much time trying to be healthy, which can prolong your life quite a bit.

And I'm also talking about Goalie's point about being able to run away at the first sign of trouble. I realize trouble isn't always going to give you any warning, but if it does, I'm just going to run the other way, and the chance that I'll be able to do that successfully is pretty high.

And make no mistake, I'm not advocating doing any of this in lieu of carrying a weapon. It's just another way of preparing for bad stuff that can happen, and really doesn't take much more effort than the effort we already spend on gear and training, and is arguably more useful.

IMHO, It's high time that the comparatively high cost of custom defensive ammo be balanced by the simple fact that the correct, ultra low cost treatment of the bullet nose with a drill press procedure can save a huge amount of cash. I would highly doubt the the related articles written back in the 50's and 60's, from which I first learned of this 'trick' are web accessible; too bad. HKIM, the reduced pill weight has a corresponding effect on how the round behaves. Read your fired primer, chrony, gel hits and amount of perceived recoil. The expanding characteristics are as individual as the procedure you execute on the nose of the bullet. I will not pass any recommended hole diameters nor shapes due to the liability/harm/death issues of an individual struck by these detructive items. BTW, keep your "center" on "center". I am amazed at how much money the merchandisers of "defense ammo" ease out of the shooter's funds to provide agressive shock/flesh-tissue/knockdown bullets. I have been customizing "manstopper" bullets this way for years, and shoot them into a safe backstop. Please pay distinct attention to the thickness of the bullet's jacket, whether it is steel, copper, bronze, plate, hard (quenched), medium or soft lead. Please, avoid modifying or "tipping" frangible, tracer, uranium, phosphorus, explosive or "dum-dum" military bullets. Don't modify loaded rounds! You should only modify single, solitary inert bullets. REPEAT: BULLETS. Don't ever epoxy shotgun or rifle primers alone or in combination with ball bearing strikers in the nose. Do not use tungsten carbide penetrator tips, explosives, poisons, flammable or restricted compounds embedded in the nose! Armor piercing ammo possession will cost you 20 years in the slammer. This comment is not to be construed as an instruction to create enhanced bullets that may be used in any activity other than only controlled target practice under safe conditions with an adult in charge shot through guns in new condition. Thanks, and happy drilling!
