Not worried about getting burned if it saves my life.

I have the Bond Arms derringer which I bought mostly because of the replaceable barrels. It's surprisingly decent on the recoil with up to 45 acp. I haven't tried the 357 mag bbl or the 45 colt. I think they have a 10mm bbl also, but I passed on that. Materials and workmanship, fit and finish are excellent.

However, I'd opt for a G42 or G43 for EDC.

I enjoy shooting my bond arms with .38s, fun gun. With .357 it is a bit stiff but I still do it but then again, that is me.

Note that I have the "extended" optional rubber grips. They help a lot with control and recoil. Also as a reloader I can control the loads and wouldn't opt for near max. The aim of the upper and lower bbls is different and somewhat of a challenge.

There is the "Double Tap" if you insist upon a Derringer style of pistol. Scroll to bottom of page to see how it works. I know a few people that have shot them in 9 mm and 45 ACP. They said they would never shoot them in 45 ACP again.

Yeah, Double Tap my heinie. Worst pistol I have ever fired. I even got the rubber cover (not in photos) for the butt and it's still punishing.

Not well designed to diffuse recoil in the hand. WORST firearm purchase i ever made. Sure ok small and concealable and TRULY one to be carried often and fired litle. Very little.

He could get the .223 one. Then he would have a mini AR, or not

Well, the ATF is getting pickier these days with some things so better safe than sorry I suppose.
