Yep, me too. She's only going to there on Saturday according to the poster.

You might need an outfitters tent with a wood burning stove.

The weather is looking real nice for the week-end. A wood burning stove shouldn't be needed. :D

Saw Jessie. What a ripoff. Got in stands early. All she did was teach 4 people the basics of shooting. She did no shooting.

1st time going. I went on Friday, I pre-ordered a few handguns. Wow, such a Long Wait to get checked out of background check and then pay for them. Decided to purchase another gun once got up to the counter and the price I got was $10 over what it was advertised for in their handout. Literally like 3.5 hours in line or 4 hours. Very, very, very frustrating. Do NOT see myself going next year. But with all the political climate I assume they had way more people purchasing guns this time around. I hope it was 5 times as much people, because it was Crazy how long it took. I wanted to purchase a lot of ammo and other things but there was literally no time, just had to wait in line. Glad I got to shoot the Savage MSR .224 Valkyrie though, planned on shooting 3-4 others but once figured out how long the line was, knew no way I could.

I also went Friday. Was there 20 minutes early. Had preordered a handgun. Waited in lines for four frustrating hours to complete that purchase. And that was all the time I had. They have to find a better way. That was 4 hours where I couldn't participate in anything else there. Very disappointed. To rub salt in the wound, I thought at least I got a discount on a gun that was pretty much the same price everywhere, and then Gander of all places, puts it on sale considerably cheaper than anyone. Live and learn. Should have stuck with thunder John&Jan.

They had a single line for all background checks? So individual vendors didn't do their own? Is that normal at a gun show?

Seems like it would have been better to use a number system so folks could wander around until their number gets closer to being called.

This event is put on by Reeds, as far as I know they are the only firearms vendor there.

Reeds was the only one available as far as I know also. One line for NICS checks but once you get up there, there were 10 dividers with 7 being used IIRC with Reeds employees doing the NICS paperwork. Then from there they grab your gun(s) and make sure they are the right ones and then photocopy your stuff and then send you in the pay line. They texted me when my NICS check was done. The pay line was single file, with 2-3 registers when checking out. A fair amount of people retrieving your gun(s) for the cashiers. I believe they sold a lot more guns this year than in years past, but either way next year they at least need a plan just in case it's that busy. If it happens 2 years in a row then they will loose A Lot of potential customers. I would never go back, even for huge savings on a fair amount of guns. Most had a fair amount of money taken off MSRP and they also paid all the taxes. But Not worth it though, at least this year.

I'm going to look into it a little bit more as I'm going up north to my mom's and will probably stop by there on one of the days. If they did sell 3-5 times as many guns then I'd understand. Might as well use my 20% off $50 purchase on some ammo or something. I remember a year ago in the Walker, MN store they had a Sig Sauer P238 for like $475 or so when a lot in twin cities were like $575 to $625 or so (they have a lot of models, but this one was a nice one).
