Jeff Johnson on guns?

I remember back before we passed the MPPA,when Jeff Johnson was running for the state legislature, I met him at a campaign event and asked him about his position on shall-issue carry permits.

He said he was opposed.

That was long ago, and I have no reason to believe that he hasn't changed his mind.

OTOH, I have no reason to believe that he has.

Should he be elected, would he be a pro-gun governor?

Jeff is 100% pro-gun and has made 2A a centerpiece of his campaign.

He spoke at our 2018 Legislative Preview and participated in our Governor's forum with Keith Downey and Mary Giulani Stephens (this was before Pawlenty was in the race). He supports Constitutional Carry and Stand your Ground.

There was a strib article to this effect back on Wednesday I believe.

Is he 100% pro gun to the point he gets elected and then just doesn’t allow anything anti through?

Or is he pro gun to the point that he has an agenda to push for expansion of gun rights?

So more in the middle, won’t allow bad stuff through. Will sign good stuff if it gets to him but won’t do anything to push for bills.

Micky mouse would be better than what we have now. Also, heard a blurb on KSTP that all democratic candidates support making minnesota a sanctuary state. Dam dems are just plain stupid. Hoping we get a republican in office. If not, expect our gun rights shattered unless republicans keep what we have now.

And FAR better than any of the Democrats. Even Walz has run left and come out in favor of an assault weapons ban. Of course, there are no details on his website.

Will he push? Yes. But that falls more on the legislature to get that done than it is for the Governor to make it happen.

This is far better than what we have - and lightyears ahead of the three DFL candidates.
