It was hunters choice on our hunting land this year. I only hunted 3 days. Saw a lot of young deer but I passed on all of them. I hunt in area 178 and the deer are just starting to make a comeback so if it didn't have a nice rack I didn't want to shoot it.

I think they should have left it bucks only for another year or two but I understand the DNR's need to sell licenses.

6.8 SPC-Federal Fushion-115 gr. took a button buck. Saw more Wolves than deer this year. Was NW of Bemidji.

I hunted in 183 over the weekend which is Hunter's Choice too. I also have a bonus tag for my home which is in a different zone. Saw a doe and a fawn on Saturday and a small fork horn Sunday morning up north. I passed on them as I didn't want to waste my buck tag so early in the year on an antler-less nor on a small buck.

I'll be out tomorrow and Thursday trying to fill my bonus tag and maybe the regular tag if a decent buck walks by. Or, on a second doe if the opportunity arises. If all else fails, there is the muzzleloader season.

Surgery happened last Friday, so just got my hunting in. Now 3 months of recovery and left hand shooting only.
