Dick’s Sporting Goods to Remove Guns from 125 Stores
Retailer says will replace firearms with other sporting gear as it combats sales slump

Watching the video, they have swallowed the bogus stats and by running with that, *SURPRISE* their sales are tanking. So now it appears that they are going to shift their target market to soccer moms and urban "athletes". Good riddance...

It's sad to lose a retailer of sporting goods. I hope someone with common sense and a better political position takes their place in the market. Maybe Target can carry guns again?

I doubt they will go back. Too much political pressure to fight going back into firearms. Weak knees and a fragile ego are not good traits for Retail.

They could repurpose the gun counter to display a line of participation trophys for sale.

Dick's isn't a sporting goods store, they are are a clothing and accessory store.

Their gun section has been small and now appears it is going away. The fishing section is amateur hour, walmart level stuff.

Other than that they sell shoes and spandex, as long as the clothing has a 'hot' brand they sell they crap.

I disagree, Walmart has a much better selection of fishing gear.

Galyan's had high end fishing gear. I scored a Orvis backpack fly fishing rod on closeout years ago.

I haven't stepped into Dick's for years and couldn't care less if they go under.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Still have a fishing tackle bag/box set from Galyans. It’s a great bag.
