I recall rapid fire, green tip, and prone when open to the public in meeting minutes. Now I cannot say for certain if it was both when enacted and when redacted as I do not follow it that close.

Rapid fire is now allowed as long as the shooter exhibits muzzle control. I believe prone when open to the public on a public range is still not allowed.

What's the reasoning for not allowing prone?
I will never apologize for being an American.

Some baloney about how shooters can't be seen on the line.

So they can be downrange as long as the shooter is on a bench? ;)

Who knows. Instead of adapting with the times, OGC is choosing to continue pretending like it's still 1968. Bullseye only targets, limited shortrange opportunities, baloney rules...

if they weren't so close, I wouldn't bother spending the money or time every year. I've given up trying to change the board.

No, the argument is that on the 100 yard line, when it is busy with the public, the range officers have a difficult time seeing everyone if someone is shooting prone. Not saying I agree with it, just stating the why.

No one is allowed in front of the yellow line when folks are downrange.

I agree, there is a specific mindset that we need to continue to try to change. At least they have gotten past rapid fire and are now allowing that. My point was I had not heard that the greentip had changed to ok. If so, great.

What are the limited shortrange opportunites? We have portable target stands on the 25.

Want to use the pistol range then join.

Want to use a different target then join.

I can see as an RSO that it would be difficult to see what people are doing if someone was prone.

You can easily join and shoot prone as much as you would like.

I’ll add another. Want the whole range to yourself come in the winter.
