NRA Post Legislative Session gathering

Postby yukonjasper on Thu May 23, 2019 11:35 am

Is anyone going to the meeting on the 30th at Cabelas being put on by the NRA?

questions:
How active was the NRA in our state fight against Red Flag and UBC?
Do the Minnesota groups join forces with the NRA to battle these issues?

I got emails from the NRA about both bills . Other than that I see nothing of the NRA in state politics .

The NRA coordinated with us this year (and last) on legislative strategy and we moved in lockstep together.

They had a lobbyist in Minnesota part-time (he had two other states as well) and we kept in touch on issues. He did testify twice against gun control legislation.

The NRA generally has taken a less public-facing role in Minnesota given our rather odd brand of politics.

The NRA DID NOT support any gun control in Minnesota.

Hope this helps,

Is there any way or reason to support the NRA on a state level in the event you believe that donating on the national level is a waste of money?

The MRRA is the state chapter of the NRA. Unfortunately, they don't have the budget or volunteer staff to have any kind of presence.

I've not seen the MRRA involved in gun rights politics in my more than a decade in this.

Is anyone going to this and willing to post a report? I'm curious but currently on the road.
