Ed Browns can’t be beat for the price.

I never considered Sigs due to price until I actually shot one. I think this is one of the better deals and have been trying to resist:

It’s a target version, so may not be exactly what your looking for a carry piece, but a good bang for buck for a 1911. It’s priced around a mid-grade Springer.

Look at at Ruger...no external extractor and it functions perfectly...

After too much research I am in total information overload, so I am going to find a nice quite place to have dinner were they have a good tap beer and forget about it for awhile.

I am planning to go visit a few gun stores to look at fit and finish and shopping at gun stores is fun.

Thank you all very much you have help me narrow my choice down a lot!

I have a colt, Kimber, and a Springfield. Like all 3 of them. Had a Ruger it was mag picky, Kimber and Springfield don't care what mag it is feeds fine. Colt mainly just sits.

Bumping this as I am interested if you made your decision and what you picked up.

Since this thread, I picked up a DW Vigil 5” .45 and it has been running well for me with FMJ range ammo. Still need to try JHP in it.

I gave up on it, it became too expensive to get something reliable, so I bought something in the black and evil range of riffles possibly. (must keep plausible deniability in today's atmosphere).

I love the feel, the trigger and the recoil, but spending $1200+ to try and get one that is reliable and accurate seems to much.

Reliable 1911s can be found for much less than that.
