Walmart halts ammo sales

Postby yukonjasper on Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:59 pm

Knee jerk much.......cowards.
Walmart says it will discontinue the sale of handgun and short-barrel rifle ammunition and also publicly request that customers refrain from openly carrying firearms in stores even where state laws allow it.

I personally think that open carry is whacked, but if you love the attention go for it. That part is not a point of contention with me.

Here I think.

The subject was broached there, but that thread was (originally) about background checks.

That was my thought. I thought this deserved it's own discussion.

I suspect only if you properly answer the question: Will this be used in a handgun or long gun?

Ha. At the local Wally world they used to walk you up the checkout line with ammo. I never did buy any ammo for handguns, even though it was often 9mm and .45. Later they made you pay at sporting goods counter and some of them knew better.

I'm not going to pay gun store prices for target range ammo. Alternatives to Walmart's super-cheap Winchester ammo?
