Thanks for posting a link to this, it’s very informative, warning: the thing is about 8 hours long, the gun stuff starts at about the 3 hour 10 minute mark.
The following bills are discussed:
HR 1236 – "Extreme Risk Protection Order Act of 2019" aka the Red Flag Gun Confiscation bill.
HR 1186 - "Keep Americans Safe Act" aka the high capacity mag bill (10 rounds or less)
HR 2708 - "Disarm Hate Act" makes it illegal to buy a gun if you’ve been convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime.
For me the Youtube version is tough to watch because I like to pause and go over stuff again. The slightest twitch on the ‘timeline’ bar moves the action several minutes fore and aft, I'm used to it just moving a few seconds. Makes it really hard to go over what someone just said.
I watched quite a bit about the Red Flag Gun Confiscation part. It’s strange the camera folk dwell on the anti-gun folk even while gun rights folk are talking. I’m not sure this is a bias or not and if I should be upset or not.
We did get folks (and these are Congress People---who MAKE laws) saying you could buy a gun on the internet by clicking a button and that Chicago and California have gun problems in large part because people can just go to a neighboring state and buy their guns there, and of course buy on line with the click of a button.
We also got the obligatory ‘for the children’ and the ‘I dare you to look the relatives of these victims in the face and vote against this bill’ rhetoric. (That one got some much needed push back.)
I’ll probably check out some more but it is just frustrating.
Also, Moms Demand Action (MDA) were in the crowd and the Congress folk were decked out wearing orange ribbons and orange scarves and the chairman of the event cautioned the MDA not to cheer and applaud when gun control points were made even though they (the committee members) appreciated their support. The chairman made no bones at all that he supported all three bills.
