They claim it is a market decision, not sure I believe them fully but one cannot deny that the market is flooded right now.

Listening to one of the radio talkers just now; he questioned why, even assuming it's true, a company would feel the need to make such an announcement.

It isn't the first time they've suspended civilian sales.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Because of the reaction they are getting questioning if it is politically motivated.

The NRA and other pro gun talking heads and pro gun journalists are all saying Colt is overloaded with military and law enforcement contracts, tho they did lose the M4 contract, the market is saturated with ARs and Colt will return to the civilian market when they get caught up. Colt apparently is on board with the above or so they say.

I don't see Colt wanting to piss off the gun community but who knows they could be pulling a Dicks...

Don’t the Colt AR’s have a rep for being a bit overpriced? My understanding is that you’re for the name.

Yep, snob appeal is strong with colt. I personally have trouble thinking of a gun company that has a more mismanaged consumer/retail division.

Ha! Good comment.

Color me embarrassed. I thought Colt WAS doing this like Dick's and Walmart. According to the Colt representative they are NOT doing this as a political stunt and we can look forward to them supporting the 2nd Amendment and providing some AR type rifles in the future.

Thanks for posting the link to that video.
