Chiappa 1873 SAA in 22LR.

Postby PHATSPEED7x on Fri May 22, 2020 9:19 am

Cheap Italian made single action 22LR revolver model after the legendary colt single action. Should make a good little plinker. I wanted a Ruger Wrangler but have yet to actually see one in stock at any dealer around me. So this will do for now.

I don't think Ruger wranglers are MN legal due to their frame construction. Pretty sure they run afoul of MN's asinine Saturday night special laws. They are plentiful and cheap in South Dakota last time I was there. I saw them as low as $180 at the Sioux Falls gun show in Jan or Feb, whenever that was.

edit - yep, small note at the bottom of the page. Not available in MN. You might be able to order one from a distributor and get the FFL to xfer it if they are not aware of the restriction, but technically not allowed here. :(

Well that explains why I haven't seen them. But a replica from Italy can be imported. WTF.

Chiappas have the same problem with ALL of their guns. Luckily most FFL either don't care or don't know. Same with Heritage revolvers. Took me forever to find a dealer that would ship one of their 16 inch barrel revolvers here. My FFL will transfer any dealer shipped gun.

Actually tried helping get Chiappas into MN when they first tried shipping here. Most states have 800 degree for Saturday night special and we had to do one better and make ours 1000.
Corrected.

Lower it to 100 to protect us from the guns made from butter........very clever way to clean up the streets and keep butter in the hands of people who can responsibly handle ....butter!

Something doesn't sound right in the highlighted piece. If it doesn't meet our 800° test, how could it possibly meet the 1000° test for other states?

It melts at 800 but then reconstitutes itself if heated up to 1000. Russtra can explain the science.

It is. I just searched left handed leather holster for plinkerton 22. This one was on a ebay auction with like an hour left for bidding. I placed a pid for a dollar more than the starting bid. I ended up getting it for under $40.
