So how many of you plan to get the COVID-19 “vaccine(s)”(?

With my current condition compromising my immune system, and other factors, I plan to get it when available.

I prefer the Moderna, because my youngest son is one of the chemical engineers working on it.

I have nothing against the vaccine itself. I doubt whether it will be any more effective than the annual flu shot though. But I am leery of the whole program and dismayed at what is coming along with it. The future restrictions on what a person can and cannot due based on their vaccination status and a likely requirement to carry some ID or an app that proves it. That's big brother stuff that just doesn't sit well with me. Covid is causing a sea change in how people are OK with letting government trample their rights and it sickens me.

I will get it because I work in a field designated "Very High Risk". The chances I'd die from it aren't great, but I'd rather not be sick for several weeks or spend my retirement carrying around oxygen bottles, either.

The vaccine card doesn't look much different than the ones we had as kids in the 60s. The pediatrician filled them out and you needed to present them to enroll in school.

My chances of dying from Covid are near 100% so yes but guessing it will be through the VA from the notices I have gotten from them.

The above, other than my greater skepticism of the vaccine; its effectiveness, and safety, reflects my view to a tee.

If my doctor recommends I get a shot, I'll get the shot.

I refuse to carry any card.
I refuse to give out my phone #.
I sure as hell ain't downloading any app.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Yes, in my youth (70's and 80's) proof of measles vaccination was required for things like enrolling in school. So based on that precedent it isn't a major stretch. However, I trust our government far, far less now than I did then. In concert with all the other oddities and concerns that have come with Covid and the many liberties being restricted for other reasons it just doesn't sit well with me. I didn't get then sense that the vaccination requirements back then were widespread and that it was a piece of a larger push for government control like I do now. Now it will not be just school, it will be pretty much any public place.

The worriers are going to nod and smile at the 'very reasonable restrictions' and will not blink an eye at government's growth of restriction. Franklin's quote comes to mind: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Some people are even calling it "The Mark of the Beast":

Wait until you're not allowed in stores unless you have a vaccination card...

P.S. I'm going to wait until a few tens of millions of people have been vaccinated to see what side effects turn up.

I will get the vaccine as soon as I can. My dear daughter-in-law, in her 40s, has extremely rare medical conditions that would almost certainly be a death sentence if she should get Covid. While I would hate mandatory shots, I'd also like to see my daughter-in-law once in a while. She has self-quarantined on their 17 acres since early spring, and I miss seeing her. :(
