I’m optimistic that it’s just a reorg, and the bankruptcy protects them from the crap NY is pulling.

Lobbying is done by the NRA-ILA, which I believe is separate.

Correct, the way I see it the main benefit of the actual NRA is showing member numbers of people agreeing with the 2nd amendment.

Per the email they put out, it is part of a strategic plan to get out of new york. They filed for bankruptcy in a federal court in Texas, to protect themselves from New Yornk AG's "abuse of legal and regulatory power".

But where did all the money go? You can’t just file bankruptcy as a strategy. You have to be bankrupt first.
