Police involved shooting in Brooklyn Center

BC PD got its tit in a ringer now. 4 injured, one dead. BCA investigating officer involved shooting. You could hear who was already razing a ruckus off camera on channel 5.

That is only 2.4 miles from me. Less as the crow flies.

I read they shot at the Brooklyn Park PD. They shot up the wrong PD.

Here we go again. If that kid did not have a weapon, will be seeing that city burn.

Even if he had a weapon, the riots will continue. Facts and reality don't matter.....

From the sketchy media coverage, traffic stop results in a warrant discovery for gun carry without a permit and a missed court date. The perp was out of the car but ignored police and went back into his car to get a gun/take off/call his mom (we don't know) the officer shoots him, he drives off and collides with another car after bleeding out.

Body camera footage hasn't been released.

Watched the aftermath on 'Live on Patro'l. They were reporting traffic jams of cars coming from Mpls and St Paul to the shopping center being looted.
The facts of whatever happened are irrelevant to those bent on causing trouble
There were reports of looting in several other municipalities, as well as a threat of arson of a retail store wit an occupied apartment above....because...'justice'.

Now reporting that the officer grabbed and shot his handgun at the suspect when he meant to grab and fire his taser. Who would have ever thought that making tasers in the shape of a pistol and holstering them on the belt would ever cause confusion? This isn't the first time this has happened. That's pretty *******.

Happened in Rochester some years back, though the guy lived in that case. After that the RPD required officers to keep their taser on the side opposite of their sidearm.

Don't plan on being able to buy ammo any time soon.

Is that the strip mall where Bills is located? What if anything happened there?

It seems the police officer believed she had reached for her taser (located on her left hip) but instead drew her service weapon (located on her right hip) Shouted "Taser, Taser, Taser" and discharged her service weapon into the suspect.
