State Fair Cancels Minnesota Weapons Collector Shows

Postby DonT on Thu Aug 05, 2021 2:49 pm

This may be old news but I just found out and confirmed on the Minnesota Weapons Collectors website that the Minnesota State Fair has decided to no longer allow them to hold Gun Shows due to "Insurance Reasons". Considering that I am sure the State Fair required MWCA to carry their own insurance with limits acceptable to them (as they do with any organization that uses the grounds) and also named the State Fair as an additional insured on the MWCA policy (providing coverage to the State Fair under the MWCA policy) this brings the reason given into question. These are sad times.

We've filed a MN Government Data Practices Act request to obtain documentation from the State Agricultural Society around this decision and their "insurance" claims. Will report back.

MWCA tells us they will relocate to the Rivercentre for the shows that were planned for the fairgrounds.

Time to turn the fairgrounds into housing.

Is it safe to assume this is NOT the news regarding the State Fair you alluded to in the Carry Issues thread?

Also, I'm kind of wondering if this might be a strike by the State Fair board in retaliation for attempting to force them to abide by state law?

This is NOT the news I was alluding to earlier.

I'd expect something by Wednesday next week.

Does anybody audit state fair?
Do I understand correctly, it’s belong to taxpayers and they bragging about never use taxpayers money because they finance themselves.
What about the extra money they collect?
And how come they can ban some state residents for LIFE, to be part of state fair exhibit ?
Looks like we have a organized entity who collects state money through state fair and playing like that’s their personal business.
Same time discriminated against citizens of the state and state law.
The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.

They're subject to the state auditor and the office of the legislative auditor.
