Twin Cities mayors call for state law change to let cities act on gun reforms
Several Twin Cities mayors and local community groups are calling for state legislators to change the law so the cities can pass their own gun reforms.
Currently, Minnesota law doesn’t allow municipalities to implement any ordinances related to guns, except to prohibit the discharge of a firearm and to conform to state law.
In the wake of the mass shooting at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis last week, local officials are urging statewide changes.
