St. Paul : Carter out - Kaohly in

Saw on KSTP this morning that Carter will be ending his tenure as St. Paul mayor, to be replaced by a more progressive leader. Seems like a trend in Minnesota. That said; there seems to be a point where you can't be more anti-gun regardless of your rhetoric and I wonder if the appointment of Kaohly will represent no changes in terms of where Minnesota is headed for legal gun owners; and for that matter the street thugs will feel no changes since further regulation doesn't affect them in any way whatsoever.

What are others' thoughts?

I live near St. Paul and am in St. Paul on a regular basis; I'm guessing whatever St. Paul cooks up in the next few years will affect many of us.

St. Paul is a degraded city. Public transportation is dangerous, the business core has fully collapsed. Areas that were once family friendly are now havens for illicit activity. I remember what this city was back in the 60's and 70's but lucky for Kaohly few of her voters remember St. Paul having solid businesses and shopping downtown. Yet, all the mayoral candidates can talk about is more pride fixations, cracking down on legal gun ownership, are renaming streets. Brilliant. Some people are happy though - everyone who makes a living by home health care billing fraud and charity fraud can rest assured they are protected.
