Squib Joe,
I stopped over today and purchased a box of that $13.95 9mm AND a box of the $21.95 .40 and had a good time trying out some guns on the range.
Sorry for wondering what the cost would be on the ammo before I even stepped foot in the door.
Considering what it is priced elsewhere locally, (if you can even find it) it was in line with the other guys.

FWIW, I stopped at Streichers afterwards and paid $26 for a 50 round box of 9mm Hyrdra shok. I think that is even higher than it was a few months ago.
The guy at the counter said he would be surprised if what they had on the shelf would even last Saturday. They had about 10-15 boxes on the shelf.

Kudos to you guys at Bill's for a well run event.
Thanks

No need to apologize, we're on a supply/demand roller coaster and I get sticker shock myself on a daily basis. Glad you could make it in

Are there any sales that you'd like to point out? Half-price on that Nighthawk I want? ;)

We have screaming deals on hunting rifles and shotguns this year - most of them are going out the door under cost. Half price Gerber knives have been selling well. I'm ready to deal on 50BMG rifles as well.

I have T3 Nighthawks coming, including the new stainless model. Not quite half price.. but we'll get it down as low as possible.

I was able to stop by for a short time. I picked up a RRA LPK for $67. They had two left when I was there. (4/3)

a Lot of things to look at, but I was pressed for time. No time to shoot.

Squib Joe had one in the back room he brought out and let me pet. Amazingly light. Typical Ruger trigger though.

Stopped in at Bill's, OK I guess. It tends to be the same thing year to year. I don't go to shoot so maybe it is not the show for me. Crowds were heavy, alot of urban youth seemed to be coming in as I was leaving.

Is one of the new T3's going to have the new aluminum frame, per chance? Nice gun, or so I have read...

I sure wish Nighthawk would make a Hi-Power. I would love something like that. ;)

Dawn and I stopped at Bill's today, big mistake. The service was very good, thanks Joe and Nate. I thought they had some very nice pricing for what we were looking at. Dawn just needs to work 80 hours a week for the next six months.

I stopped by today, and was standing outside the glass watching someone shooting a .460 S&W. Bang... bang... BANG!... a noticeably louder/different sounding shot. No panic or any thing, but a Bill's employee showed up and was dinking with the gun and a rod. Didn't figure out what happened, so wandered on. A few minutes later I happened to be standing by the S&W table when the gun was returned. It had somehow, blown the compensator portion downrange. Looked it over and how it was machined in and fitted, and couldn't figure how it had gotten away. But, there it wasn't! I suppose, those 3 three days, popular sample guns get more rounds through them than many guns get in a lifetime.

The compensator coming off the 460 is a fairly common occurrence.

Got in the door right as it opened on Saturday. Found the 1911 I wanted to shoot and was on the range in no time. After that I spent quite a while trying to shoot some more 1911s while quickly growing tired of waiting for them to return. The worst was waiting around for cases to show up for a gun that was sitting on the table ready to go. It seems some of the reps grabbed more than their share while others had to make due with putting handguns in rifle cases.

Spotted the S&W 41, decided that was worth waiting for a case. By that point, the counter was 3 lines deep  I asked for a box of Eley Sport at the counter, the guy tried to make sure I had the right caliber (understandable) then handed me some of the Remington (golden bullets? ewwww) So what if it's $4.50 a box, I wanted to shoot the best damn American .22LR handgun with the best damn .22LR in the shop. Besides, a box is only $4.50 so it's not exactly breaking the bank. They promptly put me in the machine gun bay next to the Barrett. Gee, thanks guy  Ever shoot Bullseye with a Barrett, ak74 and m16 going off next to you?
I'm aweful putting names, faces and nicknames together. If you read this Bill's guy, I forgive you. It was busy and you were just doing what you could to get everybody a lane quickly. :)

Last lap around the room; it's pushing noon. I spot the PTR-91's on the wall and a rep not seeing much action. I've always wanted one of those, or at least a chance to shoot one. I chat with the rep a bit and learn one of them is chambered in .243. A .243 G3 clone? how.... odd. I hand him the DL and he starts searching for the serial number. Never finds it. My name is the only one on the list. He borrows a rifle case from another rep and off I go. To make a long story short: I didn't realize German fingers are 2 inches longer than our American versions. Can't reach the "thumb" safety. Can't reach the mag release. Bolt release is awkward. I've heard the ergonomics of the G3 were bad, but I had no idea! It is, however, nice to finally cross one off the list of "Firearms I'd Like to Own" without the normal process of emptying the wallet first.

Grabbed one of those Shooter's Specials at the bar next door. Thin frozen patty on a squashed bun with a pile of shoestring fries.... Color me unimpressed. Spent the whole time cursing my friends knowing that there's an El Loro next door and that I could be nomming on a plate of Chori Pollo. mmmmmm

Last stop: Streicher's. http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7460

Can't wait for the next show!

I don't know what happened, but I managed to go in, look, and NOT shoot anything ... I know, I'll turn in my gun nut card.

The upstairs remodel was nice. There were a bunch of employees being very helpful and things seemed to be running smoothly.

Was there Sunday with some friends whom tried out a couple of XDs a 9 and .45 line was too long for my tastes. Quite busy but a harried staff was friendly and helpful. And yes there were a few "urban" youths. But I noticed 1 or 2 watchful types keeping an eye on everyone!!
