Mark of the beast? Prove me wrong!

How are they "marking" them? I'm not up on Revelations, but isn't the "mark" supposed to be on the person? Maybe I missed it.

Maybe this way if there is a fire 40 years of records wont get destroyed. That has happened before.

Instead of a dog tag, the government could embed a chip in a soldier, like a veterinarian embeds a chip in a dog or cat.

Here is an interesting read.....

http://www.av1611.org/666/biochip.html

Is the biochip the Mark of the Beast?

The biochip technology was originally developed in 1983 for monitoring fisheries, it’s use now includes, over 300 zoos, over 80 government agencies in at least 20 countries, pets (everything from lizards to dogs), electronic "branding" of horses, monitoring lab animals, fisheries, endangered wildlife, automobiles, garment tracking, hazardous waste, and according to the experts – humans (which we’ll examine in detail later). To date, over 7 million animals have been "chipped". The major biochip companies are A.V.I.D. (American Veterinary Identification Devices), Trovan Identification Systems, and Destron-Fearing Corporation.

And according to most modern-day "prophecy teachers". . . the implanted biochip is the soon-coming, 666: Mark of the Beast.

And this is followed by an article that is about 2,000,000 pages long.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

There is a local company called Digital Angel that was developing implant technology in humans. The chip was supposed to hold medical records, track a persons location and aid in commerce.

How did we segue from a story about the Dept. of Defense keeping Military personnel's medical records electronically and sharing them with the VA instead of vets having to schlepp around a huge pile of paperwork, to the Government implanting electronic chips in soldiers and the Book of Revelation?

You people need to sit down, relax, and have a Bud. Good Lord, don't those tinfoil hats get tight after a while?

Widge:

It is called incrementalism, and it is the way things get done. We have the technology and now Obama has discovered the need. Next step is to apply the technology to the need. He is not going to be the one to propose the solution, but he will be the one to make it apparent.

Five years ago who would have believed that the federal government would could fire the CEO of General Motors. Impossible, but it happened. That's not the end game, but a baby step on the slippery slope of socialism.

Good idea to have a beer, but let's not ignore what is going on around us.

It's called paranoia, and while a small amount is healthy, reading dastardly plots into everything proposed by anybody on any subject is not.

Do you honestly think it is a better solution to have vets, some very elderly and some severely disabled waiting weeks if not months to obtain their medical records from the DoD or the VA so they can get better treatment for their illness or injury, suffered in the service of their country, is preferable to the DoD and/or VA centralizing their files so they can be transmitted electronically to whichever provider they are trying to see?

If you really want to worry about something, try freaking out over the confidential information and whatnot held on you by Credit Bureaus. None of which is subject to oversight or checking for verification, and all of which can, and does, have a deleterious effect on your lives, and the lives of your immediate family. Try asking to see that information (and I'm not talking about your credit report) and see how far you get.

Give me a break.

According to factcheck.org, Obama is way off regarding when his e-records plan will be implemented and how much it will save. He is claiming that half the $2500/family annual savings will come from medical e-records and that it will occur in his first term.

Is he lying for fun or does he have another motive for pushing this plan?

You mean you actually believe what candidates say when they're in the middle of their election campaigns? Did you believe everything McCain said? Edwards? Palin? You'll have noticed your citation comes from 2008 (July) of course.

None of the above (however you try to spin it, means (or even mentions) that the matter posted by the OP is a plot to robotize or 'chip' the Military - nice deflection from the actual discussion though.

I guess I don't really care if people want to see plots and schemes in every line of proposed legislation, I just wish they'd find some actual verifiable facts to back it up before claiming the 'sky is falling'.

Yes, the original analysis was done before the election, and no I did not believe Obama when he first proposed it.

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/President4 ... 536&page=1

In this ABC News article from January (post election), and there are more since then, Obama claims that medical e-records will save billions of dollars and thousands of jobs every year. How could something that is so efficient save jobs? Efficiency typically reduces jobs.

Widge:

You have characterized me as someone “reading dastardly plots into everything proposed by anybody on any subject”. And, this is based on my post regarding e-records? You have great vision.

Rose, I haven't characterized you as anything. Kindly do not put words in my mouth. if you feel that you are one of the people being referenced as:

reading dastardly plots into everything proposed by anybody on any subject

then you are characterizing yourself as being one of those people, not I.

Your latest link, once again, has nothing at all to do with the OP's assertion that the evil Government is intending to implant soldiers with electronic chips, and that this is a sign of the impending 'End Times' and a plot against the citizens of the U.S. I have no argument with the premise that centralizing records may cause job losses, but that is not the matter in question in this thread.

Thanks for playing though.
