That's because it's so small in caliber. :P

interesting thread about a good question...

my first thought is, why would you be worried about a "fanny pack" or murse? if you're allready wearing spandex / bike shorts it's going to blend (true, but feel free to insert any number of jokes here...). enough althletes/exersize nuts use the fanny pack to carry granola stuff or water that it's not out of place. plus, it's also a location that someone on a bike would store the wallet, so if asked for such it would be easy to answer with the weapon instead.

i've always found summer carry to be a little tricky - not so much for the conseal aspect but making sure that if you're biking/running/chasing women or other summer sporting activities that the carry method secures the weapon well enough not to fly out and be a downer.

in my opinion, if you can wear the spandex shorts in public and hold you head high, you can wear the fanny pack too. it's just a few short steps on a road you're allready a mile down. :D :D
i do what i can, where i'm needed, and i ask so little in return. i'm a true humanitarian fueled by rainbows and whiskey. you should be so lucky to know me...

Nobody sees the bike shorts, i wear regular "normal person" shorts over the top. Man, the thought of having to look at me in spandex...... [shudder] :hide:

It turns out that I now have three options to try. OWB - Works fine. Need a cover garment, but I would normally be wearing one anyways. Easier to sop when my hammAResque shirt blows out of the way, but who gives a crap. IWB - I learned the correct position for this to be comfortable as well. Still visible when the covewr shirt blows around, but not as much. User842 was generous enough to lend me an Uncle Mikes sidekick shoulder rig to try as well, I will report back on that one when I try it, but so far OWB wins.

Back to your original question - why am I adverse to a fanny pack? Because I am a man. I don't need a purse. ;)

On the flip side, if you are going for more than 50 miles at one time, anything but a fanny pack is going to really, really suck. An chafe.
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

I have an "under seat bag" that carries just about everything I need. Except a "heater".

Another vote for the fannie pack. I've biked nearly all the way across the U.S. and found that the only way that approached comfortable is a fanny pack. Many are made specifically for guns. In the states where concealed was illegal, I've either buried the gun in the Panier or if open carry was an option, in a holster tie wrapped just under the seat. This of course was a concern as I could be knocked from the bike and quickly relieved of the gun but it is all but invisible just below and inside my right leg. When ever I needed to go into a restaurant, I either again buried the gun in a Panier or stuck it into the fanny pack. As a biker, most people would think you had money or ID in the fanny pack any way. One of the few times the fanny pack would not scream "gun". Try it.

Haven't heard a whole lot out of you lately.

My congratulations in your apparent success.

Gunfighting your way out of that refrigerator we all heard about, must have been a real doozy.

Just finished a 400 mile ride using my fanny pack with no trouble at all. It was comfortable and convenient.
