Just HOW DESPERATELY do you want ammo???

Postby PoorSSJ on Mon Jun 15, 2009 9:26 pm

I stopped at DK Mags in New Brighton today to pick up a new mag, and discovered that they sell guns and ammo too. They have great prices on mags, and their gun prices seems pretty good on some anyways (glock 17 for 529.00) They had shelves full of ammo, it seemed like they had most calibers covered. I asked for a price on 9mm winchester target loads, 100 round boxs, the same as I picked up at wally world last week for 19.97... They were priced at 50.00 a box!!!!

Talk about price gouging! So, if anyone is REALLY in need of ammo... use patience, check wally world often or order online and wait... OR pay fifty cents a shot for 9mm target loads!!!

:o :o :o :o

I've heard of them and always wanted to check out their store. Not anymore.

I'll go back to pick up magazines when I need them, and go there to price guns, but certainly not for ammo.

If the prices on ammo are true, and I have no reason not to believe you...

I now have no reason to stop, call, or consider them for anything gun-related or otherwise. That is Effing re-Creator-dam-diculous.

I stopped at DK two consecutive Fridays, since one of the partners had nearly all of the stock out of the shop for a show in Hinckley the first time I was there. I looked at their ammo prices and saw the same WWB for 49.95/100. I knew ammo had gotten expensive, but not that expensive. That was higher than the last 5.56 I bought. They also only had +P .38 carry ammo, no reloads or jacketed practice stuff. I happened to find PMC 9mm practice ammo for 12.99/50 at Joe's a couple of days later.

The guy I talked to the first week said they will be expanding into the computer store next door, and hope to do less shows and have some weekend hours soon. They may be top of the pops in the magazine game, and they certainly were friendly (although I'm not a fan of stores I have to be buzzed into), but they'd better take long looks at their gun and ammo pricing or I won't be spending much money there.

Yeah, for some reason that bothers me, too. I understand the security bit, but not long ago I went to one of these in Minneapolis on a day it was raining, and the little lady and I stood there for about a minute after hitting the buzzer while we could see plenty of people walking around inside. Maybe they had too many people in the store or something? Would have been nice if someone had at least come to the door and let us know what the deal was. Anyway, we left, and I doubt I'll be back.

Sorry you couldn't get in. There is a sign on the door that tells, how to get in. If you waited a minute the door locks down. Try it again and if you do it right, I will give you a free box of .22.
and a pop. This is offer is only good for Daivd. Thanks Mark

We have it set up to be buzzed in and out so that people don't run out of the shop with a gun.
