Especially the second page post by dleong with the link to the Minnesota Administrative Rules for loaded ammunition. The prior post by bensdad pertains to limitations for primers and propellants.

The short story is that there is essentially no MN state limit on properly storing loaded ammunition in the home. Up to 20 pounds of smokeless powder and up to 10,000 primers are allowed. Powder and primers in loaded ammuntion are not included in those guidelines.

With that said, there may be a limit imposed by local fire ordinance, however. That varies by municipality. Check your local library for fire regulations to avoid alarming uninformed public servants/officials with such questions.

My postal GAL delivered 3750 9mm 124 bullets and if you have ever stopped and noticed my driveway.............. She did walk up first to see if anyone was home.

MN 471.633 preempts localities from establishing rules/orders regulating ammunition and their components that are more restrictive than state statute. So a local city/fire ordinances limiting quantities of ammunition and loading components are void.
471.633 FIREARMS.

The legislature preempts all authority of a home rule charter or statutory city including a city of the first class, county, town, municipal corporation, or other governmental subdivision, or any of their instrumentalities, to regulate firearms, ammunition, or their respective components to the complete exclusion of any order, ordinance or regulation by them except that:

(a) a governmental subdivision may regulate the discharge of firearms; and

(b) a governmental subdivision may adopt regulations identical to state law.

Local regulation inconsistent with this section is void.

I would leave him a note and remind him who the post master is, that you have his contact info, and that the service paid for is to be delivered to the address on the package.

Many years ago my sweet wife hauled a case of loaded 45 ACP in the house the UPS guy had left at the door. Her comment, what is in here lead? She supports 2A but cares less about guns, ammo, etc.

10K! Heck I only set up the press to reload that for each caliber. At any given time in 9, 40, 45 38special, 38super and 223 I have 30k-50k reloads sitting around. Add to that the 22lr and 12 & 20 gauge shotgun shells and I'm easliy in the 60K as a general inventory.

I agree. It should be required that each person has at least 10k per cartridge on hand. If I were the OP, I would order 20 more of those boxes just to see the look on the neighbor's face.

Or if I am reading the link correctly 50 lbs of smokeless power if it is in a wooden box or cabinet with 1 inch thick walls.

I need a new boat.

When moving across the river into WI last week, the boat sank with all my 51K of assorted ammo.

Then today the used one I borrowed also sank, losing my 35k of primers and 230+ pounds of powder.

OBTW, the UPS man hates when I buy 50BMG ammo.

And the wife will no longer get my mail after carrying 3k of 700gr AP.

Hard to get good help nowdays.

There's a lot of bad boats around here. I don't have enough to need a bad boat but I'll hit you up for a lake cruise if I ever get there.
