38/357 roll, taper, or lee factory crimp?

I check case length every few loadings and trim as needed. I believe that roll crimp is the best way to go. I usually roll crimp in a second die after seating. This keeps from screwing up bullet noses by trying to crimp and seat at the same time. But then I am kinda strange that way.

I shoot thousands of 38! special in a semi-auto. 38 brass does not grow in length, trimming is usually unnecessary. My seating die Orients the bullet to precise depth and initiates a gentle roll crimp. The final roll crimp is established by the FCD. As I am only using 2.45 grains of bull's-eye, a good roll crimp is necessary to guarantee total ignition of powder. Of course, I have a taper crimp die. I use it exclusively on semi autos that have the proper ramp angle and magazine fingers adjusted for a reload.
Proudly launching lead from a Swiss P-240 at a range near you.
