I shoot thousands of 38! special in a semi-auto. 38 brass does not grow in length, trimming is usually unnecessary. My seating die Orients the bullet to precise depth and initiates a gentle roll crimp. The final roll crimp is established by the FCD. As I am only using 2.45 grains of bull's-eye, a good roll crimp is necessary to guarantee total ignition of powder. Of course, I have a taper crimp die. I use it exclusively on semi autos that have the proper ramp angle and magazine fingers adjusted for a reload.
Proudly launching lead from a Swiss P-240 at a range near you.
