I do remember more than once hunting in a T-shirt and jeans during the firearms deer season- even "Up North" around Cook. The one year temps hit 80 degrees or within a degree or two of that temp. It used to be a common occurrence to have a "tracking" snow on the ground by the opener but now it is often not seen until the last days of the season if at all. I could have gone barefoot those times but there is a reason I double up Odor Eaters and Scent Block in my foot wear.

LaCrosse Ice Kings are the way to go. They are designed to allow you to stand on a frozen lake all day long. I own an old pair from the 80's - before they upgraded the materials and I can't come up with a good reason to replace them - they still work great and I ice fished alot in them - bucket on the ice - colder than deer hunting weather - no issues. I also have some battery socks somewhere, that I never really got to work well - didn't really need them. They also sell a quilted over boot that you can put on once on stand that provides the warmth only when you want it. I've never tried them, but they seem like an interesting idea.

I bought Rocky Blizzard Stalkers after Bbeckwith spoke well of his. Very nice. As important is getting them big enough. I now have room for extra socks and toe movement. As was mentioned, circulation also makes a big difference for me.

Good recommendation.
