Payne wrote:Thanks to the 88 shooters who came out to brave the elements...oh wait...never mind. Great weather made for a nice day on the range. The little shower towards the end of the match actually felt good at that point.

We did the best we could with the stages and I thought it went fairly well other than taking a little longer than planned. I put on the 3GunNation Classifier "Down and Dirty", how did you like it? I would like to give some feedback to 3GunNation since it was the first official classifier put on by the MN3GunGroup. Also, a company that is sponsoring Nathan and I gave us the "zipper" target to take out an abuse. Well, mission accomplished. Other than some broken welds on the flipper parts, and learning that we should probably paint the flipper targets at the start of each squad, how was this target received? I am guessing if we made this a pistol only target (at shorter range of course) the target would have held up better.

I have to give kudo's to the crew that came from the Morris area. Chris, Adam, and crew really put on a show, both in the shooting but also how they handle themselves throughout the match, very impressive. Squad #5 was a hard working group that made setup a pleasure, they worked hard from the first stage to the last.

Thanks Brian. We had a really great squad yesterday. Always enjoy shooting with you and Nathan, as you can pretty much base how you're doing in a match by comparing your times against the Payne's. Overall it was a pretty good day for Team General Store yesterday.

I thought the stages yesterday were great. All the options left up to the shooter really made you think and evaluate things. The zipper target was great for a close range precision rifle target. Like you mentioned, it's a prototype. Get it back to them so they can fix it up for the next match. If they wanted a good test bed for their products, they picked a good one. 3-gunners are real good at breaking stuff!!

I liked the classifier stage, even though I tanked it......BTW, can I get a redo. Hopefully they come up with some more courses that use all 3 guns with a little longer COF for use at future matches. Looks like most of the courses in the library are really short/fast with just 1 or 2 guns. Some of those would be tough to slide into a match without causing a back-up at the next stage. Or maybe you could run it twice and take your best of the two times.....I kinda like that idea. At the very minimum you should allow just me to shoot it twice :P

See you all in Missouri at the Midwest Championships in a couple weeks.

Anyone from squad 2 that left an AR mag by the shotgun dump barrel at stage 1 PM me with a description. I have an idea who it was but once the rain started you bolted for the car... Sissy. :P

Would've stayed had it not been for a home emergency. I was getting my raingear on, noticed a text from the wife that said "CALL ME NOW!!", sent more than once in a 20 min period. It was a rough night.

Ugh. I had one of those at the last BPR Winter League. Thankfully my ear pro allows me to hear text/phone calls but the 2 hour drive home in a blizzard wondering how my kid was doing was not all that fun. Hope everything is alright with your family.

Thanks to all for putting this on. I had a great time - probably the best time shooting I've had. I really liked the stages that had you moving and not just standing at a table. I learned at least one new thing at each stage which was great. The next match won't come soon enough!

Thanks for the well wishes, it was my 8 y/o with a congenital heart defect, that was repaired at 6 mths. He had a "blue panic" episode in swim lessons, could've swallowed water or his pulmonary artery stenosis is starting to affect him, its a wait and see game again. He's good now though!

Speaking of leaving things, anyone find a UA faded black sweatshirt on stage 2 (the qualifier stage) after setup? I remember taking it off there during stage setup, and left it there. Man I must be getting old!

I was handed a black fleece-like sweatshirt that was left over. I didn't pay attention to what brand it was as I threw it in with my gear. I'll take a look at it when I get home. Hopefully, that will also give me a motivation to put away all my gear from that long day.

The two 1911 mags are still unclaimed.

I think I may have left a scope cover at the skills builder in St. Cloud. If anyone found that that'd be awesome (although I suspect it's gone to live with the sky fairies).
