MN3GunGroup is back at it with a 3-gun match at the SCAPSA Range near Clearwater. Date is March 16th. Set up starts at 0730 hrs. and shooting starts at 1000 hrs. New shooters are welcome as are spectators.
Stages are not set yet but they should be fairly short without a lot of movement because of the unknown weather conditions. Longest distance for any weapon is 80 yrds so no real long range shooting ability or equipment is needed for this match.
Due to the cost and unavailability of some ammunition, there will be a push for 4 new divisions. These divisions will center around .22 rimfire rifles with/without optics, and pistol caliber carbines with/without optics. Scoring may be different and this match will be the first one we try running like this, so everyone should be willing to come out and shoot for a "good time" only. No one will be winning any new trucks or anything like that. At this time, due to time constraints, no one is allowed to shoot two different divisions.
This is the tentative format for the new divisions.
• Tac-22-Optics: 22lr rifle with magnified optic, 12 or 20 gauge semi-auto or pump shotgun, and 22lr or bigger handgun.
• Tac-22-Limited: 22lr rifle with iron sights or non-magnified optic, 12 or 20 gauge semi-auto or pump shotgun, and 22lr or bigger handgun.
• Tac-Carbine-Optics: Carbine rifle with magnified optic, 12 or 20 gauge semi-auto or pump shotgun, and 9mm or bigger handgun.
• Tac-Carbine-Limited: Carbine rifle with iron sights or non-magnified optic, 12 or 20 gauge semi-auto or pump shotgun, and 9mm or bigger handgun.
Again, the new divisions are not set in stone yet, they are just being talked about but I will try to get back as soon as possible when the final decision is made.
I will monitor this thread and answer any questions that I can. You can also check http://www.mn3gungroup.org and the mn3gungroup facebook page for further information.
