Good riddance! I like the Mao references, though with he and his posse, I can't help but think of Beria and the NKVD. Extreme example yes, though the level of persecution and rhetoric toward us "gun nuts" is on par.

Saw Both the GOCRA and TCGOCF facebook pages this afternoon and it made my day! Yeah, I read all the rest of ya loud and clear, "the devil you know". He'll push for sure on his way out and hopefully we'll respond as we did earlier this year. If you look back over the past few years, he's introduced the same, tired, miserable, failed legislation, which has only wasted his peers time, and the voter's tax dollars.

At least he's incompetent and ineffective. If he were competent then we'd have a problem.

So you are saying he may be missed?
Seriously, if another anti liberal gets elected that does have a basic knowledge of anything, can present the skewed facts, then he/she could be a problem.

I won't miss him! I do understand reason for concern about his replacement too! Not sure what the answer is there.

I think it's highly unlikely that a Republican wins this seat.

It's possible that a Pro-2A candidate (DFL) could win - but so far the only declared candidate is a highly progressive liberal attorney who used to staff the Public Safety committee.

That's also one of the most liberal neighborhoods in St. Paul. There might be a slight glimmer of hope - but I wouldn't count on it too much.

Here's the good news:
- Paymar is out.
- A replacement will not be chairing any committees for at least 2-3 sessions (i.e. 4-6 years)

Here's the bad news:
- He has a session to go as a lame-duck chairman.
- He'll be more willing to roll the dice and see what happens - in a forceful way
- I don't think we're done with him by any means.

What can we do?
- If you're in that district - help find a Pro-2A candidate.
- If you're a DFL member in that district - goto the caucus and stand up for the second amendment
- Signup and be active w/ GOCRA - http://gocra.org/join
- Donate to the MN Gun Owners PAC - http://mngopac.org/donate - help us support pro-2A candidates

I won't miss him but the cure may be worse than the disease. There's that possibility. I'm sure he's "mentoring" his successor as we discuss this.

Even if I still lived in that district, there's a few (well a LOT of) basic flaws with having me as a back up plan.

1) I'm not a Democrat
2) I'm not a liberal
3) (and probably the most important) I DON'T WANT THE DAMN JOB!!!!!

My thoughts exactly.

I'm always intrigued as to why these people are referred to as liberals when the only thing they want to do with our liberties is restrict them.

I've often wondered why liberals are called liberals when most liberals I know are nothing of the sort!
Per Bing:
1.broad-minded: tolerant of different views and standards of behavior in others
2.progressive politically or socially: favoring gradual reform, especially political reforms that extend democracy, distribute wealth more evenly, and protect the personal freedom of the individual
3.generous: freely giving money, time, or some other asset

Very few liberals I've known fit the first and third definitions and only partially into the second definition; where that should read as, "progressive politically, socially, and globally: favoring immediate reform, especially political reforms that extend democracy, distribute wealth, and grant personal freedom of individual belonging to the proper ideology and political parties"

They don't tolerate different views. They only tolerate what they are in agreement with. They are the most narrow minded people I know.

A few weeks ago there was an article about Governor Dayton's charitable contributions. He was ashamed to admit that he had only contributed $1000 of his six figure income to a charitable organization. He gives our hard earned tax $$ freely to Zygi, Mayo Clinic, Mall of Amerika, etc. but little of his own. A good liberal.

The only reason he was ashamed is because a reporter called him on it.
