Once i was at gander mountain in woodbury and they told me that if i printed the webpage from buds they would match the price + transfer fee which i believe is $35 at gander. You could always try that, or talk to Ryan over at Bills North as he takes good care of his customers and is always eager to get a new one, and he will tell you if he can come close or not.

Something to keep in mind, Gander Mountain will price match, if you can prove a price, from a local retailer with the gun in stock. Providing you want to jump through those loops. I can't ever seem to find exactly what I'm looking for when I feel impulsive, anywhere, probabaly a good thing

CDNN has had some of the best prices on a few guns. (It's a good thing impluse buys don't apply to internet orders, to me anyways, if I can't hold in now, I'll talk myself out of it)

IIRC they will stay in your outbox until Andrew logs in .........then they will transfer to him.

Give gunbroker.com a "gander..." It's the eBay of the gun world. You'll still have to ship to a MN FFL, though. Plan to pay the transfer fees, state tax and shipping. Depending on the gun, I have come out considerably ahead a number of times.

Correct, they added a line on the tax return to report all purchases across state lines that had no sales tax paid on it.

I'm still not sure what the supposed basis for this is since state sales tax is supposed to be taxing the company for the benefits of, in our case, Minnesota services like police, social services for workers and so on. The standard was that your company had to have a physical presence in the state, such as a sales office, a service center or essentially any employees within the state in order to add sales tax. This is probably a great example of the evils and true nature of government. They saw money out there that they could steal so they changed the moral, supposed truth, justifying the previous taxation and created a new one because they wanted a piece of that money too. It's like teenagers with a no limit credit card.

I suspect one of the reasons behind collecting sales tax for out-of-state purchases is simply to encourage residents to purchase from their resident brothers and sisters, thereby keeping our state's economy strong. The internet might be great when you're trying to save a buck, but I have to believe it's a bear to tangle with when your a mom & pop gun shop (craft store, music store, hardware store, clothing store, electronic's store, book store, etc.). Of course, the flip side is that this discourages residents from patronizing out of state business, but I'm not sure that's inherently evil or a sign of big government holding all of our hands or being greedy.

The sales tax is supposed to be a tax on the CONSUMER, not the retailer. (The retailer is required to collect but you owe it anyway, in theory.) The law requires most businesses to separately state the sales tax on all receipts, with a few exceptions, (ie vending machines ect.) .

If you are a Minnesota consumer, with disposable income you decide to spend, you legally owe the tax on things you bring into the state, whether the retailer collects it or not. They don't enforce this for small sales, but they could.

I was once billed for past due sales tax for supplies purchased from a CA company two years after I had paid and received the goods. A few hundred dollars of sales tax was at issue. Somehow Miinesota found out about the purchase. Minnesota sued the CA company for not collecting Minnesota taxes. They threatened to turn ME in to the Minnesota Department of Revenue if I did not pay my tax, which they were supposed to collect, but did not.

But this seldom happens.

That's a change from the way I remember it 10 odd years ago. I was always given the impression that the tax, although it may have been directed at the consumer, was supposedly for the benefits the State provides to doing business in the state, not just some unreasonable tax simply because we want more of your money but don't have any real claim to why we should get it style sales tax.
