we just need 8 witnesses. then he at least has to reload once.

HammAR wouldn't own a 1911 that held more than 7 or 7+1 rounds would he? That would be borderline blasphemy.

It's your bet..............do you feel lucky today punk.

How come the answer to this is always yes?

Okay, here is how this is all gonna play out. At the next big get together, we'll have all the striker fired, polymer framed pistol guys on one side and all the 1911 platform guys on the other. We'll all kick it off into a big melee and the group that comes out on top after all the carnage will have the best platform. It will be like the Sharks and the Jets in West Side Story, complete with all the fruity dancing. What about those of us with hammer-fired polymer framed pistols?

Fair and straight forward reply....
and to support it I will put one of my $300 Norinco 1911 against any $500 Glock..........
winner takes all......

Sound like fun. To make this worthwhile, it has to be a grind of a test...involving dropping, dirt, water, sweat (blood?) and a lot of rounds. The shooters also have to be either the same person or evenly matched...

"The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either..."

Personally I must confess, I've carried a Glock for a long time. They are great weapons. I like them and I recommend them...but I do often miss my 1911....

On a more serious note, for informational purposes only, one of the top CQB focused units in the world just got rid of their 1911's and went to the Glock 21 because of reliability, particularly in really dirty/dusty places.

Somewhere, somehow, you just gave JMB a stroke and a heart attack, along with 90% of all JMB fan boys...

I hope you're happy with yourself.

Rule 6: If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.
Rule 11: Always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.

Belgiboy was kind enough to loan me the book "Out of Nowhere". In WWI and WWII they said that snipers often timed their shots to happen at the same time as a nearby machine gunners shots, masking the sound of the well aimed sniper fire, and making it harder to find the offending sniper.

I know some of our fine members probably know this, maybe have tried it, and apparently are still breathing possibly because of it or similar tactics.

I also know that sometimes its best not to push your luck. I think lining up against some of these members may not be the wisest choice a man could make in his lifetime. Gun A vs. Gun B be damned. :D
