The "FIREARMS Y/N" on the driving record of MN drivers has to do with DNR Hunter's Safety Certificates.
And there is NO permit to carry information contained in the DVS data base. Neither in driver's licenses, nor vehicle registration info.
It's contained within a separate data base altogether, in conformity with state law.
