Suicide by cop is my suspicion. But if her gun was loaded,(YTBD) and she even got off one round on that busy highway.... the cop was not the only one in the line of fire. there were what? 4 or 6 lanes (can't remember that area too well) of potential traffic she would have been firing straight down. Will wait till more comes out.

Zarrett testified that he used the Taser for two to three seconds after the woman refused to hang up her phone during a traffic stop.

Many were thinking it. You had the seeds to say it.

I thought the reason for officers to have a taser was to have a non lethal way to stop a threat. Is a phone that threatening?

You must not drive.

A phone has been scientifically shown to be MORE dangerous than alcohol when driving a motor vehicle, only twice as annoying and with no chance of getting lucky.

Being distracted by texting or talking on a phone while driving has absolutely nothing to do with what happened here. The woman did not comply with the officer when asked to hang up the phone at a traffic stop. It also sounds like she was in the passenger seat and not the driver. I don't see how this is a physical threat to the officer? I am not a cop nor do I know the procedure for dealing with this but it would seem that if every officer did this a whole lot of people would be getting tased for not being cooperative.

The real question is did the woman who was shot and killed draw on the officer or what caused him to inflict a fatal wound?

One might draw some conclusions about the women that got shot after listening to her 'friend' 'defend' her as not being a violent person...I don't recall the entire conversation, but the friend said something to the effect:.... if the woman did in fact have a gun, she might have thought the police man would be interested in seeing it, and she may have been trying to show the gun to the police officer...

I find this case strange because the police and media are usually all over someone when they draw first and there is nothing about that in this case.

Do Golden Valley cop cars have dash cameras? If they do, that should go a long way to addressing what happened.

Was it her brother who was just walking around the area where it just happened?

At which point if I were said officer, I may have been inclined to put several into her as well.

I agree. My first thought would not have been:" .....neat gun, let's go to the range together. ..."
The whole thing is a bucket load, regardless of how it started.
